Earring update -minor infection

I didn't realize that I'd developed a bump behind my new ear piercing until a few days ago. That's not entirely true. More accurately, I didn't realize that the bump that developed behind my piercing was a sign of infection until a few days ago. I clean it frequently, I just didn't think much of the bump since I couldn't see it and since it wasn't very painful. It suddenly hit me that the bump was getting bigger not smaller and the earring kept crusting over.

Ewww, I know.

I looked it up online and realized I had a bit of a problem. I went back to my piercer who said this thing happens often, especially when the piercing is so close to the oils in my hair. He used a piercing needle to puncture and drain the bump and sent me on my way. That process didn't hurt and didn't cost me anything.

The bump is definitely smaller but still present. I'm taking extra care with the cleaning of it to be on the safe side. Just as they said, it does feel better since it's been drained. I didn't realize it wasn't supposed to hurt a little still. It feels much better now.

Once the infection is under control, I'm going to get a new earring!
