Reviews: App, Movie and a Restaurant

~RANT~
Ok I'm a perturbed right now. I just wrote this long blog entry useing BlogPress for iPad and the stupid app crashed after I pushed the "Publish" button. It didn't save a local copy. Lost every word. I'm going to ask for my money back! What a waste of time! How can you blog on an app you can't trust? That's the reason I'm not using wordpress right now. I need a reliable mobile blogging solution and the Wordpress app wasn't it either. If you know of a reliable mobile blogging app please let me know.

~My Date~
We had the Classic movie and dinner date; and it was wonderful. I feel lucky. My date (my husband) is smart, sexy, thoughtful, funny and most importantly mine. The night was wonderful and the only thing that was missing was the fancy hotel in a foreign location (like Jaimaica or Atlanta; I'm not picky. Either place feels  far enough away for me right now.)

~The Social Network~
This was a good movie! The movie captured my attention from the very beginning. It was fascinating to learn about the Harvard student who created my beloved Facebook which made him the youngest billionaire in the world. I wrote more about this in my first attempt at a blog but I can't remember it all at the moment. Darned blogpress app!

~McCormick & Schmick’s Seafood Restaurant~
On a good day I believe this place could've ranked up there with my favorite restaurants. Too bad  didn't visit them on a good day. The food and the ambiance was impressive. I ordered the "Creole Shrimp & Grits Tasso Ham, Andouille and a Rich Sauce over Fried Grit Cakes". All I was thinking was Shrimp and Grits. I envisioned a large fancy bowl filled with southern style grits with a pile of spicy shrimp in middle; enjoyed with a spoon. What I got was very different. On a flat platter, there were 3 good-sized grit cakes topped Creole (spicy) seasoned jumbo shrimp drizzled with a matching sauce.  Required a fork. Yummy! I couldn't eat it all but when I finish this blog (again) it's going to be breakfast (or rather brunch).

David's food was good too but he had to wait to start his because the service was a bit lacking. Let me explain. We knew something was wrong when it took too long before we got to order our drinks. The waiter who finally did take our drink and appetizer order let us know that the system was acting up and our waitress is busy right now but would be with us soon. While waiting on our drinks to return we noticed that the wait staff and a manager were apologizing to various tables for the wait. When our waitress came to our table it was obvious she was flustered. She never told us her name. She said she didn't want to waste her time by telling about the specials of the day if we already knew what we wanted. She didn't use those words but she could've. I ordered the Shrimp and Grits and she brought me the Stuffed flounder. So David waiting patiently while they corrected my order.

The lady's bathroom needed attention. It had no hand-soap and the trash was overflowing onto the floor. It was a mess. Did my waitress use that bathroom and neglect to wash her hands with soap?! Ok, I'm going to stop thinking about this now. It's quite disturbing.

The pumpkin creme brulee (sp?) was delicious and we left McCormick & Schmick's content with never coming back. Life is short and there are too many restaurants in Raleigh to redo bad experiences.

~Piercing Saga~
I wore my hair pulled away from my face all day yesterday. My 12 year old noticed my earring and asked me about it. She said it was unlike me, which is true, but "me"  is changing ever so slightly over time. So last night at dinner I asked David why hadn't said anything about my new piercing. He admitted that he remembered me telling him I'd done it, but that he promptly forgotten and didn't notice it. He went on to ask the prerequisite questions, Did it hurt? and How do you take care of it from here?  Then we moved on to other topics. :)
